The Shailie Starter kit review

I received the products below for this review. All thoughts are my own.

I have a treat for you today! When I came across Shailie all I could think was how much I wished that I had it when I was a little girl! The Shailie line is more than just a toy! It is an outlet for imagination, learning and creativity.

The Shailie Starter kit includes this adorable life size, pink and white polka dot dress form. It also includes a Shailie Base Skirt and Top, a Shailie Closet and The Shailie Starter Dress. You can choose to purchase additional dress kits, and then you can mix and match creating endless fashions! It comes in a huge box that you. You do have to do some assembling in. As you can see in a picture I posted below. It will bring your child years of enjoyment!

All Shailie® dress kits can mix & match creating endless designs! Shailie® products are designed to fit most girls ages 6-13. NO SEWING REQUIRED.

This would make for a really fun and creative sleep over party activity as well. We can't wait to test that out!

Little girls can become their own clothing designers with the Shailie Starter! Best of all there is absolutely no sewing required. Velcro is used to hold the pieces together for a custom one of a kind look and fit.

Shailie has been awarded the following prestigious Toy Awards:

*Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Seal
*Disney iParenting Award
*Creative Child Magazine Product of the Year
*TDMonthly Innovations Award

Shailie is designed to fit most girls ages 6-13. The materials stretch quite nicely to allow adjustments for most young children and tweens. It is the perfect gift for any age! I had a blast creating unique designs with the kiddos. Shailie is great for all ages and genders!

The Base Skirt can stretch to fit a 39” waist. The Base Top can also stretch to 39”. For smaller girls, the Base Skirt and Top will fit any size. Using Shailie dress kit pieces, Velcro can be used to cinch and make the Base pieces fit even smaller sizes! Just adjust the pieces once they are on your child. Alyssa really enjoyed creating with me.

Shailie dress kits come in pieces and will fit any size. All that you do is stick on the pieces to the base dress top and skirt. You do have to adjust them on yourself (child) to get the exact fit however. It is still a lot of fun.

The Starter Dress includes 2 hot pink crystal satin skirts, a hot pink crystal satin sash, a pink jewel and 5 sequined top pieces just for inspiration.

Shailie  allows girls to design their own fashions.  They can wear their design for a fashion show with friends, or simply take it apart and create a new gown.

The Shailie® Closet easily attaches to a hanger, constructed with a “Velcro happy” fabric, girls’ simply press Shailie® dress pieces to the closet for storage, keeping dress pieces runway ready.

Shailie includes a life sized pink and white polka dot dress form, and all the dress kits come in pieces allowing girls to create a fashion, then take it apart and design something new!  What a blast!!  Check out the website for additional add on dress kits. The only issue I had with this dress form was that I could not get it any lower than you see. I didn't want to force it or split the wood so I left it as it is. It wobbles a bit too. But it is a creative way to have your child share their imagination!

Measurements: (Chest 29 ½”, waist 26 ½”, hip 29 ½”, height adjusts from 2’ to 4’ 5”)

It does have that WOW factor! Which is perfect for that special Christmas or Birthday gift!

  17. OH.MY. Goodness! My stepdaughter would go crazy over this. She loves to recreate new clothes out of her old ones and we are always looking for "fancy" clothes for her to make. She is 12 but has the mentality and creativeness of a top fashion designer. I am a more traditional sewer and wish I had a thimble full of her imagination. She would do amazing things with this kit. I see a Shalie Starter kit showing up under our Christmas tree this year. Thank you so much for this review!

  32. This would make fitting surprise garments for my daughter so much easier. I made her a Belle gown for her birthday and had to estimate how all those gathered panels would fall and I guessed wrong :( It was gorgeous and she was so happy, but it kept tripping her up all day. This would have soooo helped with that!
