Earrings for my 8 year old!

The time has come for my (almost) 8 year old to have her ears pierced! I believe in allowing my kids the choice in this. It's not for everyone and that's okay too. She recently asked if she could have her ears pierced. I guess a lot of her class has earrings. I explained that I was waiting for that special time. Now is the time! (Oh the mama tears)

My oldest girl will be getting her ears pierced! This is why I wait. This moment will be so fun for us both. I defer birthstone earrings would be a wonderful ideal.

Sleeveless Bodysuit Sewing Pattern

I currently own almost all of the patterns by LittleKiwis Closet. I've also tested a couple of Lydia's patterns. Maybe I'm a bit biased, but I always love the outcome. The sleeveless body suit is a great wardrobe staple to have. The pattern is in pdf form, so you can print it over and over.

The size range is newborn to size 4. Which is about the normal range for body suits. It's fairly easy to sew and can be completed in under an hour. I recommend a serger, but you can easily use a regular sewing machine.

Buy the sleeveless bodysuit here.

The size I made was 0-3 months. The fabric I used was a slinky knit purchased at Joann, as well as Lycra.  It's better to use a stretchy fabric that has a good recovery. The fit is great on Ava. She also looks so adorable.

If you like to sew, you should check out LittleKiwis Closet!

Advanced Biobanking With LifeBankUSA

Ava was born June 24th 2016 at 9:45 am. Weighing in at 7 lbs 6 oz, she was born absolutely perfect in every way. I always wanted to bank cord blood, however I never had the chance to with my three older children. Cord blood banking is still fairly new to me, but it's crucial that I try to educate other mothers and fathers on the topic. Which is why I decided to write this sponsored post for LifeBankUSA. At one of my earlier OBGYN appointments, my doctor asked normal questions about my desires for this pregnancy and my birth expectations. She then through in a little information about Cord Blood. She asked if it was something I was interested in, and I said YES! This cord blood could even potentially save any of my four children if the need arouse. Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Myeloma are most commonly treated using cord blood.. But it doesn't stop there.

We chose to delay cord clamping by a couple minutes. Did you know that there is still enough blood left in the still pulsating cord and placenta to bank? You get the best of both worlds! I banked the rest of Ava's cord blood and I couldn't be happier. It's an amazing investment, and well worth every penny. If you can afford to bank your babies cord blood, you absolutely should give it some thought. Cord blood banking is near and dear to my heart. It is crucial for science and for our babies futures.

LifeBankUSA also offers affordable payment plans and is the only company that is backed by the innovation and strength of Celgene, a leading global biopharmaceutical company.

Cord blood contains an abundance of rich stem cells. It has been proven in treatments to help replace and rebuild diseased blood cells. Placental Blood also contains Stem Cells, which is offering breakthroughs in medical conditions.

You may be asking yourself what stem cells even are. Stem cells are the building blocks of the body’s blood, tissues, and organs. They have the ability to transform into other types of cells and replenish themselves as needed.1 Stem cells can be used to replace other cells in the body that are abnormal or have been destroyed by disease. In fact, stem cell transplants have already become the standard of care for many life-threatening blood disorders.

Advanced Biobanking

A New Generation of Proactive Life-Banking Services: Advanced Biobanking

Ongoing medical research is showing that the stem cells in cord blood have transformative potential and are used to treat more than 80 different diseases and are being studied for the treatment of dozens more. But cord blood is only the beginning. Placental blood banking also contains various types of progenitor stem cells. Which amazingly help to heal the bodies damaged tissue and organs. Placental Blood Banking is only available through LifeBankUSA. I always knew I could trust LifeBankUSA as my only cord blood bank.

Cord Vessels
Banking the arteries in the umbilical cord has potential for new surgical applications in treating heart disease – the leading cause of death the US.

Cord Platelet-Rich Plasma
Both adult and umbilical cord platelet-rich plasma contain cytokines and growth factors that may be useful for the repair of eye injuries, wounds, tissue tears and fractures. Adult platelet-rich plasma has been used in treating athletes with orthopedic injuries. Scientific research showed that umbilical cord platelet-rich plasma is potentially more potent and enriched source of growth factors than adult platelet-rich plasma.
